The metal shows scrapes, discoloration, and areas of oxidation. The receiver and magazine side plate have surface erosion bleeding through the finish. Overall Condition: This rifle retains approximately 90% of its metal finish, as refinished. There is erosion in the bore more prominent in the grooves.
The stock rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition.īore Condition: The muzzle & grooves are dark. The LOP measures 13 ½ inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttstock. The wood shows scuffs, light scrapes, and a few small scratches. The barrel band shows scrapes & discoloration. The buttplate shows scratches, discoloration, and light surface erosion. We found cleaning gear stored in the butt. Stock Configuration & Condition: The wood stock has a straight grip, cutout for the bolt handle, finger grooves, barrel band, and a metal buttplate with hinged door for storage. The right side of the rear sight base is marked “C” for Carbine. The Model 1902 Carbine rear sight is an adjustable “U” notched escalator assembly. The pinned front sight blade is a Model 1899 Carbine sight blade. Sights / Optics: The front sight is a pinned blade atop a raised base.
